      Pump prices are live forecourt averages from the CMA Fuel Finder scheme, taken across a 2,000-station sample and refreshed twice a day. Standard unleaded and standard diesel — super unleaded and premium diesel are left out, because most people do not buy them. Electricity rates come from the Zapmap UK charging price index. Both as at . Every figure is editable — change any of them to match what you actually pay, and it will be remembered.

      MPG figures are real-world averages from owner-reported data, not manufacturer WLTP claims. Electric costs include a charging loss allowance, because you are billed for energy drawn through the meter rather than energy that reaches the battery. MPG is imperial.

      CO2 uses the UK Government 2026 factors: 2.07 kg per litre of petrol, 2.58 per litre of diesel, 0.131 per kWh of grid electricity. Tailpipe for the fuels, generation for the electricity, so both sides are measured the same way. It excludes producing the fuel, losses on the grid, and building the car.
